If the mountains could talk, what would they say? I bet they would say that September 3, 2011 is a perfect day for Lauren & Clayton to say their vows to one another! And perfect it was. It was a tad bit on the warm side, but not to worry because there were paper fans in a basket for guests to take and cool off with. In addition to the fans, there was a basket of flip flops so that guests could walk around on the grass and save their heels. Great idea! There was something really special about them having the ceremony at Clayton’s family mountain home. I wrote a bit about it in the blog post for their engagement session. The hardwood floors, creaking doors & original lead glass, gives the home such beautiful character…and the walls have collected years of memories. From what I understand, not much of the home has been changed so it has most of it’s original beauty. But what is most special is that now Lauren & Clayton will be able to create some of their own family memories.
The reception was in Greenville at the Green Valley Country Club. Once again, there was a lot of thought that went into the details. One fun idea was the cornhole boards that were hand painted with Lauren & Clayton’s name & wedding date. When it came time for the homemade ice cream, I just had to stand and watch the process. The cooks used liquid nitrogen which made for a lot of really cool fog! I was told that it is the same process used for making Dipping Dots. It was a big hit.
Congratulations Lauren & Clayton!! I had such an amazing time with you both and I wish you all the very best. Thank you to Katie Turner for all your hard & creative work.
