The day before Alex & Mike’s big day, Katie (my awesome second shooter) & I drove to Isle of Palms to check into the hotel, grab a nice dinner and just hang out and catch up. I walked into the hotel and I was greeted with a big smile and a woman saying “you must be the photographer…welcome”. I thought..wow, now that was impressive. I wasn’t even carrying a camera. LOL. The next morning we talked over the itinerary of the day and headed to Wild Dunes where the wedding party was getting ready. BUT not before our usual “day of wedding” selfie. 😀
The weather was absolutely perfect! A few white puffy clouds, deep blue sky and fabulous temperatures for a wedding. Alex was so relaxed and excited and was surrounded by family & friends. When it was time to head to the church, we all piled in the limo bus and made the trek to Charleston to the Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist church. Absolutely stunning cathedral!! After the ceremony and family photos, we had some time to take pictures in front of the church which were awesome! I could have spent an hour there with Alex & Mike because the light was amazing…they were just beaming with big smiles and Alex’s veil was catching the breeze which was something like right out of a movie!! It was then time to head off to the reception at the Citadel Beach House. When we arrived, guests were out back enjoying the nice weather, a variety of great finger foods, drinks, laughs, and lawn games. The view of the ocean was a gorgeous backdrop to this already perfect setting.
Ok, can we talk about the first dance…it was AWESOME!! Alex & Mike, it was so great watching you two and I know everyone else enjoyed as well.
Everything was incredible. Congratulations you two! It was an honor to be your photographer. I wish you a lifetime of happiness. A big thank you to my second shooter Katie. Your hard work & creativity means so much to me and our beautiful couple.
So, grab a cup of coffee or glass of wine and enjoy the slideshow.
