This Wedding Wednesday post is actually not related to weddings. It’s about cancer. Why am I replacing a WW post with one about this horrible disease? It’s simple. Too many people I know and love are affected by it and it seems like I keep hearing the “C” word a little too much lately. A fellow photographer Jen Burgess Thompson was just diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer and has two beautiful young boys. The day before she went into surgery, she created this video with the help of other talented photographers and videographers.
On October 9th, I will be leaving from Greenville, SC and heading to Austin, TX with a group of dedicated cyclists and support. I have been training hard with this amazing group of cyclists & friends, however I will be participating as the photographer and doing the Livestrong ride when we get to Austin.
Please join me and the Palmetto Peloton Project (P3) to raise awareness for cancer by supporting an incredible cause. The Palmetto Peloton Project promotes the advancement of cancer research and advocacy efforts locally, regionally and nationally through fund-raising fitness events. From October 9th to the 17th, I will be participating in a cross-country cycling ride from Greenville, SC to Austin, TX. With the help of your donation, P3 will be able to continue supporting organizations such as the Lance Armstrong Foundation and the needs of Greenville Hospital Cancer Center.
Please support my efforts with a tax-deductible donation by visiting this LINK. All support, financial, emotional, or otherwise, is much appreciated. I will be documenting our tour on my blog, so be sure to check in often 🙂 Please keep Jen and anyone else you know dealing with cancer in your thoughts. Here is this incredibly moving video.
