Matthew & Kerry have quite a bit to be excited about this year. They both graduated from medical school and have plans to move from Charleston, South Carolina to Texas for residency. That alone calls for a big time celebration!! In addition to such an exciting time in their lives, they also had been planning their big day to get married in Greenville surrounded by friends & family before they relocated to Texas. However, 2020 had different plans for them. The outbreak of Covid-19 caused their wedding day to be cancelled. The heaviness in Matthew’s voice when he called to let me know it was official, made my heart sink for them both. After they talked with their venue, they decided to have a small ceremony with just the two of them, the officiant and their best man & maid of honor. We adjusted our plans and decided to capture the beauty of their day despite the curveballs that had been thrown their way. In addition to their original wedding day plans being cancelled, they were also unable to walk on graduation day to receive their diplomas. That was going to be done virtually.
When I showed up, Kerry and her maid of honor were in the bridal suite getting ready with hair and makeup. Matthew was with his best man downstairs hanging out having a few laughs. Everyone was in the BEST of spirits…well heck…after all, it is their BIG day! I captured the details up until it was time for them to say their vows. There is something pretty special about a small & intimate wedding. We were all having SO much fun!! After they said their “I Do’s” and walked back down the aisle, we started taking various photos until we walked back to the venue for their first dance. We encouraged them to do all the things as if it was the original plan. Even the tossing of the bouquet turned out to be SO much fun!!! We laughed so much because well…there were two people to catch it, one being the best man 🙂 Sure will make for a fabulous story down the road.
Matthew & Kerry, it was an honor to capture your beautiful day! Everything was absolutely perfect! I wish you all the very best in your new state as you begin residency. You both have much to be proud of & to celebrate. Congratulations again!!! Thank you Leslie Kerrigan for all your help!
Enjoy!
Thank you for stopping by!
