After two engagement sessions and a bridal session, it was finally time for Kamella & Derek’s BIG day! I couldn’t WAIT! Walking into the hair salon for some getting ready shots was instant fun because I got to see a house full of women there to support Kam AND I got to see one of my brides who now lives in Chicago. Sorry if I hugged ya a little too tight Miss Sarah. haha. When I walked up to Kamella, she said she was beginning to feel a little sick. It wasn’t because she was nervous…it was all due to the rain that was projected to last the entire day. I reassured her that all would be fine and that this was the day she has been waiting for. The planner and venue had it all under control and we will for sure get beautiful photos. I just wanted her have fun.
Every single detail was perfect. I LOVED the table settings, flowers, and colors. The bridesmaids dresses were simply elegant long dresses with pockets. Pockets are awesome! I thought I was being a rock until Kamella’s dad saw her for the first time. His reaction was pure raw emotion that had me fanning my eyes so I could see through the viewfinder. Absolutely precious moment. Derek’s face as he watched her walk down the aisle said it all..that he loves her dearly. Speaking of details, the band was so much fun and kept everyone dancing the entire night. Be sure to check out The Extraordinaires if you are looking to book a great band for your wedding or event.
After the ceremony, I encouraged Kamella to go outside for photos. Yes it was sprinkling, but lightly. I am so so so happy she obliged because it actually made for some awesome shots…especially of the two of them. As soon as we took the last shot, the sprinkles turned into a good steady rain. It held off just long enough for the newlyweds to get those special moments captured. When it was time for the grand exit, I walked outside to get into position but just HAD to stop and admire the getaway car. It was a bright yellow Bronco with changing neon floor lights and great sounding music pouring out of the speakers. Totally cool!
I am so very happy for you Kamella & Derek. I wish you a lifetime of happiness and thank you for allowing me to be a part of your wedding events. A big thank you to Kelsey for all your help and creativity.
Thank you for stopping by!
