One of my favorite parts of a family session is the look I get when I say “ok…now just be candid, act casual, laugh, be silly and just forget that I am here”. It’s usually a look of confusion. I then say that it is totally normal to feel a bit awkward because it isn’t something we are used to when it comes to having our pictures taken. The reason it is my favorite part is because by the end of the session, everyone is feeling natural and having a lot of fun and that is what is captured in the images. Going from the posed to slightly posed to candid is what keeps the interactions natural.

I was super thrilled when Morgan & Nicole asked if they could take some pictures of one of them giving the other a piggyback. This is when I realized they too were having a good time. And the images that we got from those with the gorgeous sunlight behind them, are some favorites of mine from the session. I adore the entire Schumacher family and am so happy that I got to be a part of documenting their beautiful family. Thank you all for making the afternoon a lot of fun!!
