Wedding season will soon be in full swing and I couldn’t be any happier! This is the time of year that many couples are scheduling their engagement sessions which brings me to our next topic for Wedding Wednesday…Save The Date cards. As I mentioned previously, Leslie & I will both be contributing to Wedding Wednesday being that we work together on every wedding. Leslie has been a fabulous second photographer for Lisa Carpenter Photography and am very excited for what lies ahead.
You may wonder why save the date cards are needed if invitations are being sent out. There are many practical reasons, but another reason is because they are fun and typically less formal than the actual invitation. It is also the perfect time to share a few of those awesome images from your e-session!
People’s lives are getting busier and often times events will be put on a calendar months in advance. This is something that applies even to your family and closest friends, so you don’t want to assume that they will not schedule something on your wedding day if the actual date has not yet been discussed. Save the date cards are functional by providing advanced notice on your wedding and hopefully getting your big day on their calendars before something else comes up. If you are planning a destination wedding, then it is critical to send save the date cards to your guests. If you give them ample time to plan, you are more likely to experience a good turnout. This also goes for out of town guests traveling to your location even if it is not a destination wedding.
Here is an example of actual cards designed for clients:

A design can be created to fit your personality and style.
Until next Wedding Wednesday. Thank you for stopping by!
